User Guide: Generating Your First Video

A step-by-step walkthrough of generating a video in Video Studio, from brief to exported file.

This guide walks through generating a video end to end using Video Studio.

Step 1: Start a new project

From Video Studio, select “New video” and choose a starting point: a blank script, a product data feed, or an existing template. For a first attempt, starting from a template is recommended.

Step 2: Write or paste your script

Provide your script or outline in the brief field. Include your target audience, the core message, and the desired length. If you are generating from product data instead of a script, connect the relevant data source under Project Settings > Data Source.

Step 3: Choose a presenter option

Decide whether the video will use narration only, an on-screen AI avatar, or no presenter at all. If using an avatar, select from your workspace’s approved avatar library under Avatar Studio.

Step 4: Generate the first draft

Select “Generate” to produce a first draft. Generation typically completes within a few minutes depending on video length. The draft will open in the Video Editor once complete.

Step 5: Refine the draft

Use the Video Editor to adjust scene order, swap generated visuals, edit voiceover text and regenerate audio, and fine-tune captions. Each change can be regenerated independently without rebuilding the entire video.

Step 6: Submit for approval or export

If your workspace has an approval workflow configured, select “Submit for review.” Otherwise, export directly in your required format and resolution, or publish directly to a connected channel such as YouTube or LinkedIn.

Common issues

  • Generated voiceover sounds off-pace: Adjust sentence length in the script; very long sentences can affect natural pacing.
  • Video does not match brand colors: Confirm the correct brand workspace is selected in Project Settings, especially in multi-brand accounts.
  • Export is taking longer than expected: Longer videos with multiple avatar segments take longer to render; check the Project Status panel for progress.
