Troubleshooting a Failed Generation

Common causes of a failed generation in any studio, and how to resolve them.

Check the error message first

Every failed generation shows a specific error under Project Status. This message usually identifies the cause directly, an unsupported file format, a data source connection issue, or a brief that was flagged as unclear.

Common causes and fixes

  • “Brief too ambiguous to generate.” Add more specific detail: audience, format, key message, and desired length. Very short or vague briefs are the most common cause of generation failures.
  • “Connected data source unavailable.” Confirm the connected product feed, spreadsheet, or documentation source is still accessible and has not had its permissions changed.
  • “Unsupported asset format.” Confirm uploaded reference files are in a supported format, listed in the upload dialog, before starting generation.
  • “Avatar unavailable.” The selected avatar may be temporarily restricted by an Enterprise Governance usage policy; contact your workspace administrator.

If generation is stuck in progress

Generations that do not complete within the expected time for their format, typically a few minutes for images and presentations, longer for video, can be safely canceled and retried from Project Status without losing your original brief.

Escalating an issue

If a clear error message is not shown, or the same generation fails repeatedly with the same input, contact support@optoglide.ai with the project ID, found under Project Settings, so our team can investigate the specific generation attempt.
